TRAMA

RECENSIONE

Avete mai letto un romanzo ambientato in un trailer park con corse di moto clandestine? Per me è stata la prima volta 🤚🏼. 

Devon e Maddox si odiano. Fanno di tutto per mettersi i bastoni tra le ruote, nonostante condividano la stessa vita difficile al Garron Park. Qui si vince o si perde, anche se alla fine anche la vittoria sa di sconfitta. 

Malconcio e ferito, Devon si presenta nella roulotte di Maddox, il quale lo aiuta nonostante la loro relazione disastrosa. Quest'atto di bontà non viene dimenticato, tanto che fungerà da collante tra i due, finalmente costretti a parlarsi civilmente. 

È un romanzo diverso, dove la povertà e la violenza regnano. Entrambi i personaggi cercano di nuotare per non affogare. Interessante come il salvagente si rivelerà essere proprio la persona che meno si sarebbero aspettati. 

La trama è avvicente. Sono rimasta più volte con il fiato sospeso quando Devon e Maddox si sono ritrovati a combattere i loro demoni. Questa è una storia di stenti, ma la speranza resta fino alla fine.
