Questo è il terzo libro della serie "Damaged Good", che può essere letto come standalone.
Morgan è un gigolò e ha un appuntamento con un uomo che si chiama Logan, il quale oltre ad essere stupendo, è sfortunatamente anche un poliziotto. Sfidando la sorte, trascorrono del tempo insieme e da qui inizia una relazione basata sui benefici.
Logan e Morgan si incontreranno spesso per consumare dei rapporti carnali, la dolcezza e l'incertezza delle prime volte riecheggia nelle pagine. Questo romanzo è stato davvero una scoperta. Tra le mie letture decisamente mi mancava la vita frenetica di un gigolò e Morgan ci sa fare, eccome se ci sa fare 😍.
Simile a Pretty Woman, anche lui non accetta baci da parte dei clienti. Ma una notte di follia con Logan, ribalta l'intera situazione.
Questa è una coppia che ha bisogno dell'uno e dell'altro, anche se fanno fatica ad accettarlo.
È una narrazione frizzante, basata sul sesso e sul desiderio di entrambi. Ma se all'inizio si presenta facile e superficiale, poi prende una svolta diversa, diventando un giallo poliziesco e a tratti molto profondo. Ho amato l'introspezione dei protagonisti, pronti a mettersi in dubbio e cacciare fuori le loro debolezze.
Mi ha fatto star male leggere i supprusi che Morgan ha dovuto patire a causa del suo lavoro e quelli relativi al passato di Logan. E sopratutto quelli che ne conseguiranno dovendo pagare un errore molto caro. Riusciranno ad uscirne fuori indenni?
Lo consiglio a tutti coloro che non hanno pregiudizi e riescono a sopportare citazioni di violenza e pensieri negativi sulla pelle del personaggio principale.
